Welcome...

So glad you chose to stop by!

I hope to use this blog to share some of my handmade cards as well as some of my scrapbook pages and maybe a few pics here and there that may or may not make it to a scrapbook page.

Scrapping for me is simply a fun hobby that I don't do often enough. More often than not, I'm a collector of all things scrap... i.e. tools, paper, embellishments...

Now to become motivated... Maybe this blog is just the way to do it...

Enjoy and come back SOON!

Miscellaneous Card Set…. PTI March Blog Hop

I’ve only had PTI stamps for a couple of weeks now, but I couldn’t help participating in their monthly blog hop. This month’s Blog Hop Challenge is to use buttons along with one PTI product. Right now, I only have PTI background stamps and one set of their sentiment stamps. So I used all of the PTI products that I have.

I made a set of all occasion vase shaped cards. I used buttons for the flower centers. I don’t know the brand of buttons (just grabbed some from my stash)…
I used PTI’s background stamps to decorate the vase. The stamps used are: Retro, Polka Dots Basics II and Dot Spot. I used PTI Mega Mixed Messages stamps for the sentiments.

Fun times…

Have a Fabulous Day... PTI again...

Okay, I’m really loving the Papertrey Ink background stamps. Once again I used the Polka Dot Basics II to stamp the pink & white polka dot patterns. I really love the ability to make my own background paper. I need to move on from the polka dots because I purchased two other sets. I also used the Cricut Forever Young Cartridge for the model. Nestablities were used to mount the sentiment.

Now off to play with some more stamps.

For Every Blessing...

I guess with this card, I’m exercising my right to change my mind. I was kinda opposed to "physically" stamping anything. No ink pads for me thank you… My computer will do nicely. Then I started to take notice of the Papertrey Ink background stamps. I can officially say that I’ve had a change of heart. I love their background stamps and have recently purchased a few sets. The 3 sets of borders at the bottom of the card are from the PTI’s Retro and Polka Dots Basics II background stamps. I started off with a small section, but I’m going to work my way to using the stamps to make my own patterned paper. I love how the various styles can be used interchangeably to make unique designs. I'll get there, but for now, baby steps....

The card is brown with teal accents; however, in the photo, the base looks black… The words for the sentiment were taken from one of my favorite gospel songs titled “For This I Give You Praise”.

Until next time, enjoy…

SPRING has Sprung... CCC #16

This card is for the Cricut Cardz Challenge #16. The challenge is to use any Cricut Cartridge and any color combination to make a Spring card. Flowers, birds, or butterflies must be used on the card. I decided to use all three. The card frame was cut using the Accent Essentials cartridge (remember that one?). All of the other cuts (grass, flowers, butterflies, bird, oval scallop, and oval) were cut from the newly released cartridge, Straight from the Nest. I also added a little glimmer mist for a little sparkle. I’m really going to like the cartridge.

Challenge complete…

10 Minute Card...

I’ve got to say background stamps are really good if you want to make a card but you’re short on time. This past weekend my scrap buddy, Karen and I ventured out to Archivers for a couple of card classes. The classes were fun, but the shopping after the class was even more fun. The classes we took had nothing to do with stamping but somehow each of us ended up with several stamps in our baskets. The pink portion of the card is stamped with one of the clings background stamps. I don’t remember the name of the stamp. I like the way it turned out. Quick and simple.
